Jennifer Garner was originally born in Houston Texas on the 17th of April, 1972. Her family was however raised within Charleston West Virginia. William John Garner worked as a chemist for Union Carbide. Patricia Ann was a teacher at the local university. To follow in the tradition of her father, she graduated in chemical engineering. She moved to New York in order to pursue her dream of becoming an actor. As she appeared in Broadway plays, she also worked as a server at the nearby restaurant. She played a minor role on "Felicity" (where she also encountered Scott Foley). Garner was first seen in Alias the action thriller. Her first major role was the widely-praised romance 13 Going on 30. The film featured her as a teenager trapped inside a 30plus year old's body. Garner chose Gary Winick for the role of director. They continued to work in other films up to the time Winick passed away in 2011. Garner was named an artist ambassador by Save the Children U.S.A. The job entails the promotion of national education, nutrition, and literacy as well as early education. Garner is a board member for the non-profit group since 2014. She advocates early childhood education. In her role as an ambassador, Garner visits frequently with families that participate in Early Steps to School Success which is a program designed to guide parents on how to help youngsters in their learning.
