April Lockhart
April Lockhart is a born July 4, 1995. At the age of seven she began taking piano and guitar lessons. It was this that ignited her love to write songs. April Lockhart wrote her first song, Different at the age of 12. at the age of 14 years old, April was spending a lot of time writing her lyrics, and perfecting her singing ability. In the following months she would begin taking notes along with her father, to LA in addition to NY. The month also saw her include various other topics of concern for some of her peers who are dealing with issues such as peer pressure disabilities and even teen suicide in the song Take my Hand. Lockhart has a fan base of her own and has a job as a lifestyle blogger at the popular Ilia Pure Beauty brand. She was born without her left hand, and it's part of who she's become, but this isn't the whole truth. In the end, Lockhart's profile doesn't hide her handicap, however it's not focused on it either. What message is it sending? that we are all a part of a multitude that our identities are complex and that we're much beyond our physical bodies. I don't want that to make me feel like I'm to become a disability advocate who only talks about, because there are numerous other aspects of me Lockhart shares her thoughts via video from her house in Nashville. My daily routine isn't directly affected by disability. I just live my normal routine and have the solutions I have for my problems. This is a major element of my life so it is important to discuss the subject. Lockhart is a great example for self-acceptance generally she is currently on a long process to attain it. She admits that she's been through phases with her body and sometimes feeling insecure to wear particular types of clothes showing off her arms. Now, she dresses in whatever she likes. and she shares her pictures to social media. She claims that self-love is a journey. I'm not certain if you'll ever make it to the finish line. It's a trip, but I don't think you ever arrive. Your people with that truly understand you, and can see into your heart are the ones that remind you of what is important.
